After beginning his career in education, Troy transitioned to the legal profession in 2017 and has continued to build his knowledge and experience in the field ever since. With roots in Northwest Ohio and a background that combines academics, coaching, and legal training, Troy brings a balanced and dependable perspective to the firm’s day-to-day work.

Education and Background

Troy earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Toledo in 2010. Following graduation, he worked for several years in a local school district before transitioning into the legal profession.

In 2018, he furthered his legal training by earning a post-baccalaureate certificate in Paralegal Studies from the University of Toledo. That combination of education and practical career experience continues to support his work in the legal field.

Legal Experience

Troy joined the legal profession in 2017 and has continued to build his experience through both formal education and hands-on work. His transition into law was supported by his post-baccalaureate certificate in Paralegal Studies, which strengthened the practical and procedural foundation he brings to his role.

At HML Law, Troy contributes to the firm’s work through organization, communication, and detailed support that helps attorneys and clients navigate complex legal matters more efficiently.

Coaching and Community Involvement

Troy has a long-standing passion for athletics and began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant basketball coach in 2011. Since then, he has coached athletes in boys’ and girls’ basketball, cross-country, football, and track.

That coaching background reflects many of the same qualities he brings to the workplace: leadership, consistency, communication, and a team-first mindset.

Personal

Troy was raised in Elmore, Ohio, and graduated from Woodmore High School before attending the University of Toledo. He now lives in Perrysburg with his wife, Marisa.

Outside of work, Troy enjoys spending time with his dogs Chloe and Carter, watching Michigan athletics, and, as he would likely point out, beating John Lewandowski on the golf course.
